Following a four-week residency period, Bright Storm Group, led by Magnus, presented a 20-minute excerpt from Broken Light of my Heart, a new dance and music production. Abstracting rave with restrained ecstaticism, Broken Light of my Heart is a visual investigation of minimal industrial sound, pulsing and revealing through visceral physicality and crunchy rhythmic structures. The performance was driven by a live set from Machine Woman. Machine Woman is a sound artist, image creator, and the driving force behind the experimental electronic music label, Take Away Jazz Records. She hosts a regular show on Rinse FM, highlighting emerging talent within the electronic music scene.

The project was supported as part of BUILD HOLLYWOOD’s Your Space Or Mine series. The UK’s biggest ongoing creative project on the street, giving artists and creatives a platform to be seen in public spaces. 

Broken Light of my Heart was the inaugural performance at BUILD HOLLYWOOD’s newly opened space, The CarWash. An exciting new event space owned and curated by BUILDHOLLYWOOD in the heart of Shoreditch.
